There is plenty on the bookshop shelves for those looking for a special storytime book to share with dads for Father’s Day, but here is a selection of backlist titles which feature fathers and their daughters which I particularly love:

The Princess and the Peas by Caryl Hart & Sarah Warbuton (Nosy Crow)
At the heart of this fractured fairy-tale is the wonderful loving relationship between a father and his daughter who live just the two of them.

Footpath Flowers by JonArno Lawson & Sydney Smith (Walker Books)
Shortlisted for this year’s Greenaway Medal, this wordless picturebook with a graphic novel format follows a father and daughter as they walk back home. It is stunning in its attention to detail.

Knuffle Bunny by Mo Willems (Walker Books)
One of my all-time favourite picturebooks, which lead to two others following Trixie as she grew up. An absolute must for any bookshelf!

Ernest and Celestine: The Picnic
by Gabrielle Vincent, translated by Sam Alexander (Catnip)
This whole series about a father and his adopted daughter is beautiful and delicate,  but this title is more appropriate seasonally.
