I don’t usually do challenges because I don’t like to feel constrained in my reading and let’s be honest, I rarely follow them through! However, this new challenge from Becky from The Bookette, fellow school librarian extraordinaire, sounded far too good to pass. And I know I can do this because I already read a lot of Brit Lit anyway!

So the challenge is to read 12 books by British authors this year, one a month. That’s the Home Grown option. If you are an international participant (which I am I guess but I do live in Dear Old Blightly so I am more suited to Home Grown), the options are Winston Churchill (6 books) or Royal Family (12 books).  Anyway, all the details can be found here on Becky’s blog.

Now, we are supposed to give a list of books we will be reading. Ahem, I have not thought that far ahead, but I know the following will be included:

Unhooking the Moon by Gregory Hughes
You Against Me by Jenny Downham
Artichoke Hearts by Sita Brahmachari

I will do a page with a link on the menu bar once I have thought all this through.

Great idea Becky!
