Today is Library Mice’s turn to host a stop of Steve Antony’s blog tour for his latest picturebook Amazing,  which is Library Mice Picturebook of the Week this week! I am delighted to welcome Steve back to Library Mice (you can see an earlier, guest post, with his childhood Fabulous Five, here) and he has got a rather brilliant drawing activity in store for us! Be sure not to miss the details of a very exciting giveaway at the bottom of the post! Take it away, Steve!

How to Draw Zibbo!
by Steve Antony

Hello!

Firstly, I’d like to thank Library Mice for taking part in my ‘Amazing’ Blog Tour! As you may know by now, my new book ‘Amazing’ features a cheeky little dragon called Zibbo. He may be small, but he has a big personality, and he loves to play and have fun with his best friend.
For this part of my tour I’m going to show you how to draw Zibbo in 8 simple steps.
Without further ado, here is how to Draw Zibbo. All you need is a pencil, paper and eraser.

STEP 1: Simply draw an oval. It doesn’t need to be perfect.
This is just a guide shape.

STEP 2 : Add Zibbo’s pointy tail.

STEP 3: Add one set of wings, two arms and two legs.

STEP 4Draw a rough circle for the head.

STEP 5: Add an ear, a horn, a nose and mouth.

STEP 6: Add Zibbo’s eyes and a nostril.

STEP 7: Draw Zibbo’s underbelly.

STEP 8: Add spots. Erase any rough lines.

Now that you’ve drawn Zibbo you can colour him in. I sometimes use Photoshop for colouring-in, but coloured pencils are just as effective. Zibbo is yellowy with orange spots, but you can choose whatever colours you like. Perhaps you can draw Zibbo’s sister or brother?

I’m giving away a limited print of this drawing on Twitter. Check out my Twitter page to enter the giveaway !

I would love to see your drawings! Feel free to tweet them with the hashtag #AmazingPicBook and be sure to tag me @MrSteveAntony. Happy drawing!
